Current Academic Studies Reflection

I have not officially declared my major, but as of now I am planning on majoring in Finance. Most of the courses I have taken so far are business-related: Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. These courses were all taught at an introductory level with basic concepts in each. I have already described the course contents of  Accounting, Finance, and Management, and how they relate to the job I am seeking. Those classes, along with Marketing, have increased my knowledge in the business-world and have made me more comfortable with business concepts. Job Relevance of College Courses Taken

ACCTG 211 (already took) this course introduced me to both financial and managerial accounting. I learned how to create different financial statements for a business, and how to properly analyze those statements to make decisions about said business. It is very important to know this basic accounting information in any business-related job, so that one is able to have an understanding their company’s (or another company’s) balance sheet, cash flows and income. This course is relevant to the job I am seeking because it is vital to know how to read financial statements in order to evaluate if a company should be invested in. MGMT 301 (already took) this course taught me the fundamentals of management and leading a team in a business setting. I learned how a manager carries out their role in making company-wide decisions, motivating employees, globalization, organizational structure, and their different influences.
