Artifact

This "artifact" is one of the various cover letters I wrote to apply for a business-related summer internship. I am proud of it because it is the first cover letter I had ever written, and I made sure it was geared towards the specific role that I was applying for. Although this was written for an accounting internship, it is still relevant to the job I am seeking because it is in the business field. I will have to write tons of more cover letters when applying to jobs for the rest of my life, but I will always remember how many times I reviewed this specific one (because it was my first). This cover letter also highlights my business-related experiences and shows that I have been in contact with different areas within the business field.

Current Academic Studies Reflection

I have not officially declared my major, but as of now I am planning on majoring in Finance. Job Relevance of College Courses Taken

ACCTG 211 (already took) this course introduced me to both financial and managerial accounting. I learned how to create different financial statements for a business, and how to properly analyze those statements to make decisions about said business. It is very important to know this basic accounting information in any business-related job, so that one is able to have an understanding their company’s (or another company’s) balance sheet, cash flows and income. This course is relevant to the job I am seeking because it is vital to know how to read financial statements in order to evaluate if a company should be invested in. MGMT 301 (already took) this course taught me the fundamentals of management and leading a team in a business setting.
